  • This piece is about tactile communication, which, unlike verbal and non-contact body language caries a great weight of conflicting pairs of emotions: power and vulnerability, threat and submission, and suspicion and trust.

    This complexity is difficult to read as a third party, thus encouraging creative construction of an appropriate narrative in the viewer. The large scale creates a tension between monumentality and intimacy, echoing the conflicting emotions above.
